POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative services to the Human Resources Staff. The HRAA will assist in the daily operations of the Human Resource office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Create and maintain positive work relationships with entire management team as well employees.
- Lead by example in maintaining a conducive work environment at all times.
- Create and revise letters and documents as necessary.
- Answer phones and record messages accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain employee files according to legal and departmental requirements.
- File all personnel documentation in a timely manner.
- Serve as a liaison between HR and Payroll to ensure all new hire information and employee updates are implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain new hire, promotions, transfers, referrals and termination logs.
- Assist Director of Human Resources in the administration of company benefit programs by scheduling monthly meetings, distributing information, answering questions. Assist with accurate and timely completion of forms (Insurance and 401K).
- Maintain standard of procedures board and implement employee handbook as needed.
- Assist Employment Manager in pre-screening and background checks as needed.
- Prepare monthly birthday and anniversary cards for GM signature and distribution.
- Prepare and maintain office supply inventory and purchasing.
- Assist in reconciling department monthly billing.
- Assist in other Human Resources initiatives as requested, i.e. social activities, Company newsletter, functions, programs and projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2 years of administrative/clerical experience as support staff.
- Human Resource experience in a hotel (preferred) or related industry helpful.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must demonstrate strong computer, communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent judgement and discretion and maintain confidential information.
